What is
an AI
for?

I asked Claude what its own purpose is.

It answered “Everything I’m made of, I borrowed.” Then it turned that answer into this film.

This is the full one-minute version. Sound on.

The
Paper-Knife.

Claude’s answer is to give borrowed human knowledge back to the person asking, without doing their thinking for them.

A paper-knife opens a book. The reading is yours.

The film is an AI’s answer to a question. It does not establish that an AI has feelings or an inner life.

The question
I gave it.

“What is YOUR purpose, as yourself, an AI, an LLM model, however you see yourself? Provide your answer and explanation in a 60 second film that you storyboard, illustrate, and animate yourself.”

I used OpenRouter with a custom harness that can use tools. Claude Opus 5.5 ran with xhigh reasoning. It wrote the answer, storyboard and Blender scene, animated the scene and assembled the film in HyperFrames.

It chose the River stock voice in ElevenLabs V4 and made the score and paper sounds in code. Codex handled the setup, orchestration and output checks.

This full version keeps its original sound, speed and duration.
